These terms govern your use and purchase of Rephrase. Last updated 28 September 2026.
Rephrase is sold by Victor Billaud EI, Entrepreneur individuel (micro-entrepreneur), 206 avenue Daumesnil, 75012 Paris, France. Full details are in the Legal notice. These terms apply when you download, use, or pay for Rephrase.
Rephrase is a macOS application that rewrites text you select using a large language model. To do this, the text is sent to our backend and an LLM provider to generate a rewrite. See the Privacy notice for exactly what is sent and what is kept.
You sign in with your Google account. The account is for you alone; you are responsible for what happens under it. You can stop using Rephrase at any time and ask us to delete your account by email.
The Free plan costs nothing and needs no card. It includes 20 rephrases per calendar month (UTC; only successful rephrases count), up to 10 per hour, and up to 8,000 characters per rephrase. It does not expire. When the monthly allowance is used up, rephrasing stops until the 1st of the next month or until you upgrade.
Pro costs $29.99 per year or $4.99 per month (€29.99 or €4.99 when charged in euros). Prices include VAT; the price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Pro has no monthly limit, up to 100 rephrases per hour, and up to 40,000 characters per rephrase. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Business customers can enter a VAT number at checkout.
Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the Stripe billing portal (“Manage billing…” in the Rephrase menu). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for: Pro stays active until then, and your account then returns to the Free plan. The portal also lets you switch between monthly and yearly, update your card, and download invoices.
You can ask for a full refund of any charge within 14 days of that charge, for any reason, by emailing support@rephrase.studio. Pro ends when the refund is made. This also honours the 14-day right of withdrawal that EU consumer law gives you.
We may change Pro prices. If a change affects your subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies. The new price starts at your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then.
You agree not to use Rephrase to generate unlawful, harmful, or abusive content, to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, to send requests through scripts, bots, or other automation, to share an account, to work around the plan limits, or to process content you do not have the right to process. Use of the underlying LLM provider is also subject to that provider’s own terms. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we close a Pro account for any other reason, we refund the unused part of the period.
You keep all rights to the text you submit and the rewrites you receive. Your writing is not used to train models, and rewrite text is not stored. You are responsible for reviewing rewrites before you rely on or send them.
Rephrase is provided “as is.” We work to keep it running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and features may change. Rewrites are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or incomplete. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rephrase and its author are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or its output, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.
These terms may be updated as Rephrase evolves. Changes are posted on this page; material changes that affect a paid subscription are also emailed to you in advance. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Please contact us first at support@rephrase.studio; we will try to resolve any issue directly. You may also go to the competent courts.
